Since time immemorial, Indian culture has acknowledged the majesty of music and sung praises of its healing power. Vocal music is a type of music that uses and emphasizes the human voice with or without instruments. Here, the limitless glory of the human voice is placed in foremost focus.
Starting from the ragas and hymns, people have used voices to make music for thousands of years. Vocals have been used to soothe the mind, to ward off evil and even bring about a change in the surrounding aura. Vocal music is probably the oldest form of music that is found in different cultures around the world. This class of music typically features sung words called lyrics, although there are notable examples of vocal music that are performed using non-linguistic syllabus, sounds or noises. A short piece of vocal music with lyrics is broadly termed a song, perhaps one of the most popular forms of vocal music with widespread connectivity amongst the masses.
Courses offered
In our school, we provide Visharad degree in Vocal to our students under the Bhatkhande Sangit Vidyapith, Luknow.
We have eight classes of vocal for our students in two levels. Four courses are for preliminary level and other four are for Secondary level. After completing every level one can claim to be the music maestro and get the Visharad degree.
Preliminary Classes:
- Pre-Primary I
- Pre- Primary II
- Primary I
- Prathama I
For the preliminary classes, the music curriculum are provided by the college authority to provide a better understanding about vocal music. Annual Examinations of the four preliminary classes are conducted by the College authority itself.
Secondary Classes:
- Prathama II
- Madhyama
- Visharad Part I
- Visharad Part II
All provided courses are certified courses and after successful completion of every level one can get the Visharad degree from Bhatkhande Sangit Vidyapith, Lucknow.
Academic Session
Our academic session starts from March every year and continues till the February of the next year. Only in unavoidable circumstances, the schedule suffers a change. The current session is already underway from March, 2019 to February, 2020.
Examinations
Annual examinations of the preliminary classes for the current session will be held in the month of February, 2020. The results of the same will be declared on the last week of February.
